My name is Valerie, and this is my quest to find balance in life. Like most people in today’s world, I have a schedule full with work, family, volunteering, and being social. With everything going on day-to-day, it can be difficult to find time to focus on my health and happiness.
I wouldn’t say I enjoy working out while I’m doing it, but I’m always glad I did it once it’s over and I’m collapsed in a heap on the floor. I haven’t always been active: I really didn’t start doing any physical activity until fall 2013, at the tender age of 28. It hasn’t always been easy, but it really has transformed my mindset and is something that I push myself to do.
On the other end of the spectrum, I love food. Seriously, there’s little else I think about. I love taste, I love texture, and I eat even if I’m not hungry. I need to find balance in what I eat and how I fuel my body. If you’re interested in learning more about my interests outside of fitness, check out my DC-focused blog Not Bored in DC, where I share things to do, eat, and know in Washington, DC.
Join me while I work towards my goals, and face the inevitable setbacks that life throws at me.
