My Favorite Songs of March

Posted on

This month, I found some sounds that keep my spirits up, make me want to get sweaty, make me want to get swole, and help me stay focused. I hope some of these make it into your workout playlists!

Want more?  Check out my most recent playlists on Spotify:

Hercules & Love Affair – Blind

I’ve been into songs with a dirty bass line and horns, paying homage to all the funk that came before. This song is all of that. It kind of reminds me of early LCD Soundsystem, but with a stronger voice.

Sample lyrics: Now that I’m older / The stars should lie upon my face / And when I find myself alone / I feel like I / I am blind

Duke Dumont ft Ebenezer – Inhale

Keeping with the disco influence, I can’t stop moving my body whenever this song comes on. This song is catchy AF, even if you’re like me and don’t smoke pot. The chorus is a good reminder to breathe while pusing through that next set

Sample lyrics: Baby, I’mma need another hit / ‘Cause I want your love / Inhale, exhale, inhale, exhale

Justin Jay ft Josh Taylor – Ease Up

Sometimes we need a reminder to stop having unrealistic expectations of ourselves. This song has got you covered, along with a fun synth pop beat.

Sample lyrics: You’re tripping on the things / That you didn’t do / But you always tried your best / You got nothing to prove

Tiesto ft Gucci Mane and Sevenn – BOOM

This song should be on every workout playlist this spring. While not lyrically advanced, it will make you move and focus on the booty work you’re doing. I can’t get enough of this song.

Sample lyrics: Bring that ass back like a boom boom boom boom boom (Like I said, not lyrically advanced…)

The Cranberries – Dreams

This is a song that I sang a lot in elementary school. After lead singer Dolores O’Riordan’s early death this year, it has reentered the rotation. This beautifully composed and performed song is perfect for when I’m feeling sentimental.

Sample lyrics: And now I tell you openly / You have my heart so don’t hurt me / You’re what I couldn’t find
